Clean Water Project, summer 2018, Kotedougou, Burkina Faso
This year, we served a village called Kotedougou located only 12 miles from Bobo-Dioulasso (the second largest city of Burkina Faso). This village of over 7,000 people relies mostly on rain, rivers, and hand-dug wells for water. Their new clean water well is a great relief that will sustain them for many years.
Clean Water Project, Summer 2017, Arbollé, Burkina Faso
This summer (2017), Prosper Zongo Foundation extended its service to the North Central region of Burkina Faso through the provision of a clean water well to the village of Arbollé. Like in many villages in the country, Arbollé is one where water scarcity keeps people in poverty. With their new water source, the Arbollé community now has enough clean water not only for themselves, but also for their livestock. Farmers can devote more time to their farms, women can spend more time at the marketplace, and children are now free to go to school instead of spending many hours fetching water. Moreover, we hope that access to clean water will save the Arbollé community from waterborne diseases.
